The four percent reservation given to Muslims under 2B classification of the OBC category will now be divided into two equal parts and added to the existing quota of Vokkaligas and Lingayats for whom two new reservation categories of 2C and 2D were created during the Belagavi Assembly Session last year. The decision comes one month ahead of the assembly elections.

Bommai's government has issued the order citing, the Supreme Court order which has said that the noise level at the boundary of the public place, where a loudspeaker or public address system or any other noise source is being used shall not exceed 10 dB(A) above the ambient noise standards for the area or 75 dB(A) whichever is lower.

It should be noted that Bommai took over as Chief Minister on July 28 after BS Yediyurappa resigned on the day he completed two years in office.
