The number of companies registered for participating in the 11thedition of the biennial mega defence exhibition, DefExpo 2020, to be held between February 5-9, has reached 1,000. The number of participating foreign companies has also increased to 165 from the previous figure of 160.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the Defence Expo 2020 will be held for the first time in Lucknow from February 5 to 9. He said it will be the biggest ever defence exhibition in the country in terms of participation of exhibitors, the area of the exhibition and the revenue to be earned. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the exhibition.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh launched the mobile app of the forthcoming DefExpo 2020 today. The app is available on Apple App Store and Android Play Store. The main features of the app are ‘inform, engage and feedback’. It provides detailed information about the day-to-day events; participating exhibitors; Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), guest speakers of seminars/webinars; publications i.e., electronic brochures and e-books; maps and directions of the venues and city weather.

Reviewing the planning and arrangements for the huge defence exhibition, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh chaired the first meeting of the Apex Committee for DefExpo 2020 on Monday in the presence of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath. The huge exhibition that will showcase India’s Defence manufacturing capabilities, as well as the world’s top defence manufacturing companies, would be held for the first time in Lucknow from February 5 the next year.
