With an aim to provide free LPG connections to poor women, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious project 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' (PMUY) in Suryapet.
In a bid to ensure clean energy access to all poor households, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its nod to enhance the target of beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) from 5 crores to 8 crores with an additional allocation of 4,800 crore rupees.
Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), nearly 18 lakh 15 thousand 800 poor families in Chhattisgarh have been provided LPG connection. The scheme was started in state on August 13, 2016.
The Prices of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been increased for the Non-Subsidised and the Subsidised cooking gas from Wednesday. The Non-Subsidised cooking gas has been increased by 93 rupees per cylinder while Subsidised cooking gas is up by 4 rupees 50 paise per cylinder.
