The flood situation in Assam is still grim as nearly 4.89 lakh people in 19 districts have been affected. In the last 24 hours, one person drowned in flood waters in Nalbari district taking the death toll to two.

NIA on Saturday (Sept 3) led multiple searches at 16 different locations in 7 districts of Assam in connection with the ULFA recruitment case, informed an NIA official.
Raktopal Saikia of St Mary's High School, North Lakhimpur in the Lakhimpur district has topped the state of Assam for the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2022, by scoring 597 out of 600 marks. Scoring a total of 590 marks, Bhuyashi Medhi of Little Flowers School, Nalbari has been placed in second position.
Floods have created havoc in several districts of Assam. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) informed that floods have affected around 2 lakh people in 20 districts of the state.
