The recently tabled CAG report has alleged the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), an autonomous body that manages 1,248 temples including the Sabarimala Ayappa Temple, of violating the Master plan for Sabrimala over a decade. “This is affecting the ecology of the Periyar Tiger Reserve”, stated the report staunchly.
The Supreme Court has on Wednesday reserved the judgement in a bundle of review petitions filed against the 28th of September decision over the entry of women of all age groups in Sabarimala temple. The Constitution Bench of CJI Gogoi, and Justices Khanwilkar, Nariman, Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra heard the arguments of petitioners and respondents and decided to reserve the decision.
