Four agro logistics hubs along Samruddhi Mahamarg
The Maharashtra government is setting up four agro-logistics hubs along the Samruddhi Mahamarg to strengthen the agro-processing industry and boost exports. Each hub will receive a fund of ₹100 crore under the state’s 100-day initiative. These hubs will enhance agricultural products processing and export readiness, ensuring faster and more efficient transportation. One of the key objectives behind constructing the Mahamarg was to boost regional development, and the agro-logistics hubs will play a pivotal role in achieving that vision. It is ideal for. The improved connectivity will help farmers and agribusinesses access wider markets and transport their perishable agricultural produce efficiently. This will strengthen Maharashtra’s agricultural supply chain.
These hubs will be set up at Nagpur in the Nagpur division, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the Marathwada division, Talegaon in the Pune division and Bhiwandi in the Konkan division with the financial assistance of the Asian Development Bank. Talegaon will specialise in flower exports among these hubs under the state’s Magnet Project. Meanwhile, the first agro-logistics hub will be inaugurated within 45 days in Jambargaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. The Maharashtra State Warehousing Corporation, along with the Project Director of the Magnet Project, will oversee its development.
