Popular Canadian-Punjabi singer AP Dhillon recently performed at the Coachella Music Festival 2024. Dhillon's performance got a lot of cheer from fans who attended the concert. However, a certain gesture of the singer on stage seems to have left the netizens upset.
The Brown Munde singer Dhillon broke a guitar during his performance and this gesture did not go down well with many.
This came after Dhillon shared a clip of him breaking the guitar on stage on Instagram and wrote, "Brown Munde have left the dessert". Even the official handle for Coachella shared pictures of the singer breaking the guitar and that invited some criticism from netizens.
Many on social media slammed Dhillon and asked him to respect the thing that brought him to this stage.
A user, who was visibly upset said, "Pop Artists break guitars to look cool. They try to imitate Rock/Metal Artists not realising that they break their guitars out of the adrenaline rush and intensity of playing the instrument. It always hurts to see the poor instrument face the wrath of these wannabes. In India, we pray to the instrument. Pooja karte hain. Saraswati Maa basti hain usme. This is pathetic. Do better AP."
Another user said, "Respect the things which brought you to this stage, It’s completely your and your loss", while another user asked, "And you think doing this looked good".
Justice for Sidhu Moosewala
Interestingly, during his act with rapper and songwriter Shinda Kahlon, he paid tribute to Sidhu. "Justice for Sidhu Moosewala," read the text on the screen as the duo performed their hit song Bown Munde on stage.
Almost two years ago, Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in broad daylight by six unknown persons in Mansa, Punjab, on May 29, 2022. His tragic death at the age of 29 sent shock waves across the globe.
Gangster Goldy Brar, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, was named as the mastermind behind the brutal murder. Recently, gangster Anmol Bishnoi, who was also involved in the killing, claimed responsibility for the firing outside superstar Salman Khan's Mumbai residence.
