According to reports, Ghosh was taking an evening walk in the St Louis Academy neighborhood on Tuesday, 27th February, when he was mercilessly shot multiple times. The news was confirmed by Meenakshi Sharan, a prominent writer and founder of the Ayodhya Foundation, who took to social media platform X to inform about the tragic incident. Sharan expressed grave concern over the lack of information and updates provided by US officials to Ghosh's grieving loved ones, adding that his body has not yet been handed over to his friends who have been tirelessly trying to claim it.
Amarnath Ghosh, who hailed from West Bengal's Birbhum district, had tragically lost both his parents, with his mother passing away just three years ago. As the only child in the family, Ghosh's untimely death has plunged his relatives into inconsolable grief.
