Showing partial truth or presenting the misleading facts with a twested & biased reporting in what Rajdeep Sardesai's India Today is known for. Recently, a journalist from India Today, wa caught reporting biasely and manipulating the convrage during the Farmer Protest 2024.

India today

Recently, their journalist Satendra Chauhan has come under fire for allegedly biased reporting and manipulation of coverage during the 2024 Farmer Protests at Shambhu border. A video circulating on social media purportedly shows the journalist instructing his cameraman to avoid capturing footage of stone-pelting incidents involving protesters, particularly those allegedly affiliated with Khalistani groups.

In the viral video, he can be heard saying "Ye Mat Dikhao", when the cameraperson widened the angle to show some of the agitated protesters pelting stones. He is the same journalist who lied that he have been shot by Police while it was just a rubber bullet.

Interestingly, Satendra Chauhan yesterday confessed that the protesting farmers pelted stones at the Police, even got injured during the farmer’s protest at the Shambhu border in Ambala, Haryana.

“The farmers did not intend to stop. They were continuously pelting stones at the police resulting in police action. The Haryana Police then fired tear gas shells and attempted to disperse the crowd,” Chauhan could be heard saying.
“The situation at the Shambhu border was quite tense. The tensions escalated further after the farmers began pelting stones at the police. Later the police also resorted to firing tear gas shells at the farmers,” Chauhan reported from the hospital bed.

The video has been widely shared on social media platforms criticizing India Today for allegedly spreading partial information in favour of the protesting farmers. It should be noted that most of the private news channels are showing Police retaliation but hiding stone pelting and other attacks by 'so-called farmers'.

Whearas in reality, on duty police is being attacked by stone pelters for halting the protestors. As per the Haryana Police DGP Shatrujeet Kapur, two DSPs and around 24 police personnel were injured in stone-pelting yesterday. He questioned Punjab administration for not stopping the protesters when they started moving from Amritsar. "This clearly means that they want to create terror in Delhi and insult Red Fort again," he said highlighting injuries to police personnel.

Central Delhi has been heavily secured, with anti-riot soldiers placed strategically and metal and concrete blocks limiting access to numerous critical roadways. The protests at the Shambhu border and nearby areas are underway. On Wednesday (14th February), protesting farmers from various organizations began marching towards the national capital. The Delhi Police posted at the borders are currently protecting the borders and maintaining law and order in response to the farmers’ ‘Delhi chalo’ demands. A vast deployment of police and paramilitary forces, as well as multi-layered barricades, are in place to secure the national capital borders at Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur.

But why is this journalist asking his fellow cameraman to not show stone pelting by the 'so-called farmers'? Why doesn’t he want those goons to be exposed? India Today only intends to picture the government of India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a villain, and hide away the truth, quite conveniantly.
