Mumbai, Oct 31: In a major move ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress leader Ravi Raja has announced his resignation from the party and will be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday (Oct 31).

Ravi Raja , who has held the position of Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, has been a dedicated Congress member for over 44 years. In a post on X, he shared his resignation letter, stating, “Since 1980, as a Youth Congress member, I have served the party with utmost sincerity and dedication. Today, I am compelled to believe that my 44 years of service to the Congress party are not respected, leading me to take this decision to resign from my position.”
