After some actors from the Malayalam film industry shed their crocodile tears on 'Bhagwan Ram Lalla's Pran Pratishtha' and shared images of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution on their social media handles as an innuendo to indicate the “SECULAR” part in it, now central government has given them an answer in their style the occasion of the Republic Day,
The Government of India shared a copy of the "original Preamble to the Constitution" which was written by the "Babasaheb Ambedkar'. At this point, it should be noted that the original Preamble to the Constitution does not include words like 'Secular' and 'Socialist. It was Indira Gandhi who during the emergency period destroyed democracy and changed the constitution after putting the entire opposition in Jail. There were no "Secular" and "Socialist" words in our original constitution till 1976.
B. R. Ambedkar was opposed to declaring India's social and economic structure in the Constitution. That's why he didn't put it on the preamble.
The 'Orignal Preamble', which explains the Constitution's philosophy and objectives, was adopted on November 26, 1949, by the Constituent Assembly.
In a post on Instagram, MyGov, representing the Government of India, invited citizens to revisit the roots of the nation's governance. The post reads, "As we celebrate 75 years of the Republic of India, let’s revisit the original Preamble of our Constitution. How well does New India resonate with these foundational principles? Take a look to embark on a journey through time, exploring how India has evolved while staying true to its roots."
. "How well does New India resonate with these foundational principles? Take a look to embark on a journey through time, exploring how India has evolved while staying true to its roots," the government wrote.
Meanwhile, it seems like the government of India not only took the dig at Secularits but dose the government also indicated that it is considering a restoration of the Preamble to its original form, as drafted by Dr Ambedkar. Well, we don't know yet.
