New Delhi, Jan 19: As the nation gears up for Ram Mandir's inauguration in Ayodhya, Ram Lalla's murti has been placed in the Garbha Griha in the temple. Amidst these developments, the name of Birendra Kumar Baitha, one of the significant Kar sevak who fought in Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan, is gaining prominence.
Haven't eaten food for three decades
Birendra Kumar Baitha, a resident of Darbhanga in Bihar, is not eating regular food and has been surviving on fruits for over three decades after participating in Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan in 1992. He had pledged to not eat food until the temple was constructed. He asserts that he has survived solely on fruits since then.
With the completion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the Pran Prathistha of Ram Lalla set for January 22, Birendra Kumar will take a bath in the Ganga and resume consuming salt and regular food after the consecration of Ram Lalla.
Although he did not receive an invitation to the Pran Pratistha ceremony in Ayodhya, he expressed no regrets. He plans to visit Ayodhya later to have the darshan of Ram Lalla.
Besides, the smiling face of Lord Ram idol's has been revealed ahead of the grand 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony on January 22. The 51-inch idol has been sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj. The new idol of Lord Ram was placed inside Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi temple on Thursday, days ahead of the grand consecration ceremony.
The first photo of the idol -- made in black stone -- depicts the deity as a five-year-old child in a standing posture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the January 22 'Pran Pratishtha' or consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, which is expected to be opened to the public the next day. 'Pran Pratishtha' means imbibing the idol with divine consciousness and is a must for every idol that is worshipped in a temple.
