He posted on X, "As the nation awaits 22nd January with great enthusiasm, one of the people who will be missed is our beloved Lata Didi. Here is a Shlok she sung. Her family told me that it was the last Shlok she recorded. #ShriRamBhajan"

The shlok name is "Mata Ramo Matpita Ramchandrah" sung by Lata Mangeshkar and composed by Mayuresh Pai.

Lata Didi's devotion towards Bhagwan Shri Ram

Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar was a devoted worshipper of Bhagwan Shri Ram. She has sung several songs on Bhagwan Shri Ram that will continue to light up ‘bhakti’ in the hearts of devotees for decades to come.

According to the shlok description written on YouTube, "It was her eternal wish to lend her voice to sing the hymns of ‘Ram Raksha’ by ‘Budh Kaushik Rishi’ and offer it to the Ram Mandir. Due to some reasons, she couldn’t complete the recording of all the hymns. It is a belief that if one cannot bring the waves of the water of Maa Ganga home, even a few drops of Gangajal have the same purity and its pure essence is retained. In the same manner, though Didi couldn’t complete all the hymns of Ram Raksha, her rendition of the last hymn ‘Mata Ramo, Mat Pita Ramchandrah’ resonates the very essence of Ram Raksha in totality. This is her heartfelt homage to Bhagwan Shri Ram."

Lata Mangeshkar on Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan

When the historic Bhumi Pujan was performed by PM Narendra Modi at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the veteran singer expressed her joy by saying that her dream was finally coming true

“The dreams of several kings, several generations, and the devotees of Bhagwan Shri Ram from across the world, which they have been nurturing over the ages, is being fulfilled today. After years of Vanvaas, Bhagwan Shri Ram’s Mandir is being rebuilt in Ayodhya today, the foundation stone is being laid,” Mangeshkar tweeted in Hindi.

"A huge credit goes to honourable Lal Krishna Advani ji who performed Rath Yatra across the country to raise awareness among people about this. Credit also goes to honourable Balasaheb Thackeray ji. Today, a lot of arrangements have been made for the foundation stone, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and several other respected personalities will be present," Lata Mangeshkar added.

Lata Mangeshkar Had Sung Shri Ram Bhajan Ahead of 1990

When the legendary singer passed away in February 1990, senior BJP leader L.K. Advani had expressed anguish and revealed that she had recorded a Shri Ram Bhajan and sent it to him when he was about to embark on his Ram Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990.

"Lata ji has been my all time favourite among popular singers and I feel fortunate to have shared a long association with her. I recall the time when she recorded a beautiful Shri Ram Bhajan and sent it to me when I was about to undertake my Ram Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya.

"That memorable song-- 'Ram Naam Mein Jaadu Aisa, Ram Naam Man Bhaaye, Man Ki Ayodhya tab tak sooni, jab tak Ram Na aaye' -- became the signature tune of my yatra," he said.

Lata Mangeshkar Got Emotional over the Construction of Ram Mandir

When a memorial was inaugurated in the name of Lata Mangeshkar ji, PM Narendra Modi had revealed that there was a reason for the inauguration of the square named after the singer ahead of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Quoting a couplet from the Ramcharitmanas, PM Modi explained that 'devotees arrive before Bhagwan Shri Ram and that's why Lata Didi's memorial comes before the temple', terming Lata as one of the ardent 'bhakt' (devotees) of Ram. He recalled how he received a call from her when he laid the foundation stone of Ram Mandir.

She was very happy and emotional. She could not believe that construction of Ram temple is set to start," he said, referring to Lata's song: "Mann ki Ayodhya tab tak sooni...jab tak Ram na aaye." "Sri Ram is about to arrive in the temple," Modi said, amid indications that the idol of Ram Lalla would be placed in the Garb Griha by early 2024.

Lata Mangeshkar Chowk

Located near the Naya Ghat and constructed by the Uttar Pradesh government to honour the late melody queen on her 93rd birth anniversary, the chowk was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi virtually on September 28 in 2022.

A giant ornate veena sculpture weighing 14 tonnes is sitting at its centre. The Lata Mangeshkar Chowk marks the intersection of Ram Path and Dharm Path, both beautifully bedecked with ornamental lamp posts ahead of the consecration ceremony of the upcoming Ram temple in the holy city. The sculpture, 40 ft long and 12 m high, was made by noted sculptor Ram Sutar. The roundabout has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.9 crore, officials had earlier said.

A mural of Mangeshkar graces the wall of a round cabin located near the chowk that was earlier called by locals Naya Ghat Chouraha.

"This memorial symbolizes Lata Mangeshkar's devotion to Shri Ram. The bronze Saraswati veena amidst the pond with 92 'lotus' represents her music and devotion along with her fruitful life of ninety-two years. The main artefact is surrounded by a circumambulatory path with representatives of the seven musical notes," reads a plaque in English placed near the veena.

The late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's profound devotion to Bhagwan Shri Ram is commemorated through her last recorded shlok, "Mata Ramo Matpita Ramchandrah." Her emotional connection to the construction of the Ram Mandir is evident, and the Lata Mangeshkar Chowk stands as a fitting tribute to her enduring legacy and devotion.
