Congress, to fund its freebies! Karnataka govt launches vehicle subsidy scheme for only religious minorities

In yet another example of the dirty vote appeasement politics that is being played by the Congress govt, Karnataka's Minorities Development Corporation Limited has launched a vehicle subsidy scheme for only religious minorities (including Muslims and Christians).

 

 

Under the Swavalmbi Sarathi Scheme, the Government of Karnataka is providing subsidy on the purchase of taxis/goods carrying vehicle/ride autorickshaw, which will be 50% of the total price of the vehicle or a maximum subsidy of Rs 3 lakh. The Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme was launched by Karnataka Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan last month.

 

As per the information available on the government's website, beneficiaries who are sanctioned/approved for loan from the Banks for the purchase of Passenger Autorickshaw / Goods Vehicle / Taxi will be provided a subsidy of 50% of the value of the vehicle or a maximum subsidy of Rs. 3.00 Lakhs.

 

 

The government has introduced the scheme in collaboration with the nationalised and scheduled banks. The rule states that the subsidy amount must not be more than 50 per cent of the cost.

 

BJP leader CT Ravi took to social media ‘X’ and referred to the state government as ‘Tipu Sultan government.’

“If shamelessness had a name, it would have been definitely called as CONgress ! The Tippu Sultan government in Karnataka continues its Appeasement Politics by showering largesse on its core voter base. This is a huge insult to the majority who voted for the Communal CONgress by falling for its LIES and GUARANTEES,” Ravi posted.

 

Although the scheme guidelines mention the vehicle purchased under this scheme should not be sold to others during the tenure of the loan, people can still make money this way if the vehicle is unofficially sold and the registration is not changed. However, that will be illegal, and both the buyer and seller can face issues if the vehicle meets with some incident or accident.
