In a major development, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently attending the ASEAN-India Summit in Indonesia, has announced that India will open an embassy in Dili, the capital city of Timor-Leste.
 
This decision is in line with India’s commitment to its Act East policy. The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi, tweeted that India’s Act East policy is now being put into action.
