Amid persisting mystery about the killings of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Pakistan, social media was flooded with reports alleging that terrorist organization Lashkar-E-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed's son Kamaluddin Saeed was kidnapped by unidentified individuals.

Reports also claimed that Kamaluddin’s dead body had been found in Peshawar, Pakistan. Several Netizens and media portals took to X to post about the rumored death of Kamaluddin Saeed.

Notably Hafiz Saeed is the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind and internationally designated Islamic terrorist.

Some X users alleged that the Islamic terrorist’s son’s body that has been recovered has multiple bruises on it suggesting that he was tortured before being killed.

However, the news has turned out to be false. Reportedly, Hafiz Saeed's son name is Talha Saeed. He was recently seen at an event organized on the occasion of Eid Milad Un Nabi. It is pertinent to mention that Kamaluddin Saeed is Hafiz Saeed's father.

Who is Talha Saeed?

Many of terrorists and their sympathisers who are residing in Pakistan are under ISI safe haven. This security cover has been increased after LeT operative and prominent cleric Maulana Ziaur Rehman was shot dead a few days ago in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

Similarly, the security of Talha, who looks after operations against India and is seen as Lashkar’s second-in-command, has also been stepped up. He had narrowly escaped an attack on his life in Lahore in 2019, a development that has been attributed to infighting in Lashkar.

Reports suggest that the development of Talha’s as his father’s successor and his control over Lashkar’s finances have enraged the veterans in the outfit. With an aim to avoid a crackdown and fearing a retaliation from Saeed that could undermine Lashkar’s efffectiveness as its asset, ISI has been working hard for a truce among the warring cadre.

Maulana Ziaur Rehman shot dead

The killing of Ziaur Rahman is reminiscent of the death of wanted terrorist and chief of Khalistan Commando Force Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who was shot dead by unidentified men while he was out for a morning walk in Lahore in May. This was the third such killing in September, the other two being of Abu Qasim Kashmiri in Rawalakot and Qari Khurram Shehzad in Nazimabad.
