Renowned author Harinder Sikka, who wrote the novel that formed the basis of the 2018 Bollywood film Raazi, has once again lashed out at writer-lyricist Gulzar and his daughter, Meghna Gulzar, the director of the film. He has accused the makers of showing a distorted story in the film.
In a video that is going viral on social media, the author said in the book he has written about how Sehmat comes back to India and salutes the Tiranga. "The makers haven't even shown that in the movie nor they have played the national anthem, Jana Gana Mana. But she has shown as a depressed person and shown the national flags of Pakistan and humiliated the Indian intelligence".
Speaking on the wrongful imposition of halal certification, Sikka said, "The subject I will speak about is not about Muslims. But few of them across India, tax amounting to Rs. 1,20,000 crore in the name of halal certification is being collected. And who are paying these taxes - Baba Ramdev, Haldiram, Bikaji."
Questions Halal Certification
Further, he questioned "how milk and ghee became halal and we are accepting this and paying the taxes for it. Where do all these taxes go? To Jamiat Ulema companies who had fed biryani to terrorists like Kasab."
"So we need to bring the Josh in ourselves because when our jawan is martyred at the border, we remember him for one day," he added.
Released in 2018, Raazi was received with critical and commercial acclaim. It earned Alia some of the best reviews of her career and made nearly Rs 200 crore worldwide.
Speaking of Harinder Sikka, he has constantly maintained that Raazi makers have taken jibe for violating the terms of their written agreement.
