“Shah will arrive in Pune late on Saturday evening. On Sunday, he will hold a day-long session on the cooperative sector,” the state BJP said. He will launch a portal created by Central Cooperative Society.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, cooperatives minister Dilip Walse-Patil among other leaders and cooperative barons will be present during the meeting with Shah. BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule will receive Shah on his arrival in Pune on Saturday.

This is the first visit of Shah to Pune after Ajit Pawar-led NCP joined the BJP-Sena coalition government in the state on July 2.

“Shah’s visit to Pune is related to the cooperative sector. From challenges in the cooperative sector to reforms, various aspects would be discussed,” said a BJP leader. The state is founded on the strong cooperative network, which helped its development in the past six decades.
