Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi named the point of the Chandrayaan-3 moon lander as ‘Shiv Shakti’ point, now the Congress party following their old habit,  mocked Modi govt's decision asnd termed it as laughable.

While talking about the decision, the Congress senior leader said the BJP party had a habit of exhibiting ownership ever since they assumed power, while completely ignoring the fact that their government has named the landing point of Chandrayaan 1 the ‘Jawahar point’.

Going on further he also compares 'Shiv Shakti' to Nehru saying ISRO is because of Nehru ji, Cannot compare him with any name.' The Congress senior leader said, “It is laughable. Who has given the right to PM Modiji to do the naamikaran of the surface of the moon? The entire world will laugh. We are not the owners of the moon,” Rashid Alvi is heard complaining, adding that the BJP party has a habit of exhibiting ownership ever since they assumed power.
When a news anchor reminded him about Jawahar point, he tried to defend Congress's action, asserting, that Modi’s selection of the name “Shiv Shakti,” which is named after one of the most revered Hindu deities, that Nehru’s name could not be compared to “any other” name.
“You can’t compare Jawahar Lal Nehru. Whatever ISRO is only because of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru,” Alvi argued in defence of Congress’ longstanding practice of serving as the poster child for dynasty politics and nepotism.

Following this  BJP launched a scathing attack on the Congress party on Saturday. BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla took it to his social media and slammed the grand old party for naming the landing point of Chandrayaan-1 as 'Jawahar Point,' which showcases the dynastic politics carried out by the Congress when in power.
Poonawalla also defended PM Modi's stand on naming the landing points of Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3. "PM Modi puts India first," he said in a post.
"Lander was called Vikram Lander after Vikram Sarabhai. Had it been UPA they would have never sent Chandrayaan 2 & 3 & if they did they would have named it Indira Point and Rajiv Point," said Poonawalla while further attacking the Congress over naming places over the Gandhi family.

On Saturday (August 26), Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the touchdown point of the Chandrayaan-3 moon lander will be renamed as ‘Shiv Shakti.’ He made the announcement at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru.
While speaking about the matter, he said, “You know that there is a tradition to name the touchdown points in the scientific community. India has made the decision to rename the point on the moon where our Chandrayaan-3 landed. The point where the moon lander of Chandrayaan 3 landed will henceforth be known as ‘Shiv Shakti’.”
