NB Explains | Congress loyalist Tehseen Poonawala exposed for lying through his teeth over ISRO payment; Here's what happened-

At a time when the Indian space sector was growing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, Congress unable to digest the success, started lying through their teeth to defame the government.

In the latest development, political commentator Tehseen Poonawala claimed during a podcast that ISRO scientists have not been paid salaries for the last 3 months.

Before going further let understand Who is Tehseen Poonawalla

He is a venture capitalist, political analyst, and television personality. He is married to jewellery designer Monicka Vadera, a cousin of businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi.

What he exactly said?

In a podcast with Youtuber Beer Biceps aka Ranveer Allahabadia, Poonawala said, “They haven’t paid ISRO salaries for the last three months. ISRO scientists haven’t been paid salaries for the last three months. Is that fair? And that’s my issue with this government. We’re very proud of ISRO. It’s a great organization. Three-month salaries have not been paid and feel free to fact-check me on this."

Following this, the claim was fact-checked by PIB and termed as fake. PIB noted that the claim made by Poonawala was fake and that ISRO scientists are paid their salaries on the last day of every month.

After the sucessful launch of the Chandrayaan-3, reports imerged the engineers who built the Chandrayaan-3 launchpad were not paid their salaries for over a year. Many users started tarted targeting ISRO for not pay salaries to its scientists. However it came to light it was the engineers at Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) in Ranchi who were not paid salaries as the PSU was facing financial troubles. It should be worth to be highlighted that, HEC is not an official partner of ISRO but the company played an important role in Chandrayaan-3.

The former Big Boss contestant was also criticized by his brother and BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala on the viral claim. In a post on X, Shehzad Poonawala wrote, “Since you offered to be “fact-checked" Could you kindly elaborate on the names, and designation of any 10 “ISRO scientists" (just 10) who haven’t been paid salaries (by the Modi govt) in the last 3 months, as claimed by you (& the Congress Jamaat)? Your video is extremely clear. Kindly back it up with facts."
