The committee also asked the police to take strict action against such people as they hurt the sentiments of devotees across the country and abroad.

The committee in a letter to the police said that Youtube and Instagram influencers were creating videos near the Kedarnath Temple and hurting the sentiments of devotees across the country.

The Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee in its letter also asked the police to take strict action against those creating Instagram reels, Youtube shorts, and videos affecting religious sentiments so that such incidents will not be repeated in future.

In the viral video, the man can be seen praying. Suddenly, a woman who is a Youtuber goes down on one knee and proposes to him with a ring. The man became emotional and both can be seen sharing a tight hug. People walking nearby were surprised by her proposal and some of them recorded the video.

The viral video has also sparked a debate on Twitter as a temple was the right place for a marriage proposal. Some found the video adorable, while some users argued that phones should not be allowed at religious places due to such incidents.

Raveena Tandon voiced her support to the couple who have landed into trouble for proposing at the Kedarnath Temple premises. "“When did iur gods ever turn against love or a genuine blessing that a devotee wants to make this moment sacred? Maybe the Western way and culture of proposing is safer. Roses, candles and chocolates ring. Really sad! That action is being taken against those who just wanted his blessings for their union," she wrote.
