Sharad Ponkshe to play Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar's role in upcoming Marathi biopic

Marathi Actor Sharad Ponkshe who is well known for playing the role of Nathuram Godse, in the two-act play Me Nathuram Godse Boltoye, will play the role of Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in the upcoming Marathi biopic based on the life of veteran singer-composer Sudhir Phadke.

'Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke' will be the name of the movie. The film is being directed by Yogesh Deshpande, who has also penned the story.
 
The actor made the announcement via social media. In the caption of which he has written that, 'स्वरगंधर्व सुधिर फडके सिनेमाचा मुहूर्त सोहळा.मी डॉ हेडगेवार साकारतोय व मित्र सुनिल बर्वे सुधिर फडके." The video of it has been going viral on social media.
 
 
 
Sudhir Phadke has not only been a very popular singer and composer of Marathi cinema but has also been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
 
'Geet Ramayana' with 56 songs based on the verses of poet GD Madgulkar is one of Sudhir Phadke's most popular works. These songs were recorded by Sudhir Phadke in the voices of Manik Verma, Lalita Deulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Vasantrao Deshpande, Ram Phatak, Usha Atre and himself. 'Geet Ramayana' was first broadcast on All India Radio Pune on 1st April 1955 on Ram Navami and a new song of 'Geet Ramayana' was broadcast every Sunday for a year.
 
In the last days of his life, Sudhir Phadke also produced a Hindi film on the life of Indian freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Veer Savarkar had a great influence on Sudhir Phadke's life, he was inspired by him for patriotism. He was also actively involved in the Goa independence movement and India's post-independence struggle. He was associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for more than 60 years. Sudhir Phadke, the main inspiration and founding member of the India Heritage Foundation, died on 29 July 2002 in Mumbai due to a brain haemorrhage. And, his mortal remains were kept for the last darshan at Veer Savarkar Memorial in Dadar.
