It should be noted that following the Kolhapur violence, Sharad Pawar while talking to the media house expressed his concern for the Muslim and Christian community saying the current situation in the state is not good for the Christian and Muslim community. He also talks about the shortcomings faced by the Muslim community.

His statement comes in the backdrop of the violence that took place in Kolhapur and some other places over the posters and social media posts allegedly glorifying Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan.

Reacting to Pawar's statement, Nilesh took to social media to express his anger and called Sharad Pawar a “reincarnation of Aurangzeb.”

“Pawar Saheb gets worried for the Muslim community as the election approaches. Sometimes it seems that Sharad Pawar is the reincarnation of Aurangzeb,” he tweeted.

Following this, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday criticised Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nilesh Rane for his tweet calling Sharad Pawar a “reincarnation of Aurangzeb”. They further warned of 'Jail Bharo' agitation to protest against the BJP leader.

Though NCP has called for Rane to delete the tweet, the BJP leader has not budged from his stance. Going further, he said, "If the Nationalist Congress Party is going to protest against me, I challenge them that if they have the guts, they should do the same protest in the city of Mumbra, that is, in the constituency of MLA Jitendra Awad."

Moreover, he further said that "As for Pawar Saheb, it is natural to find similarities between him and Aurangzeb."
