The Grandson is Father of His Grandparents?

In Indian context grand parents have strong connection with grand kids, in fact in joint family system, grand parents have the responsibility to play with the grand kids with parents being busy in so many household affairs. In today’s context, working couple, having parents in the home means the big luxury. They will teach so many things to kids.

 

 

So, I thought.

 

I was moving around in the park, about a week back. Old couple with the young kid, must be around eight years old, were doing the standing exercise. There was lot of hulla gulla , one can make out that it was a good fun for the old couple . Teaching grand son is always a pleasure, so I thought.

 

Next day, the same scenario was there as I watched them from a distance.

 

It happened 2-3 times. It was always enjoyable sight to watch them from a distance.

 

Yesterday, I watched the couple doing the exercise, grand son was missing.

 

I thought I must talk to them.

 

As I came near to them, I could see their argument while doing the exercise. Lady was telling the husband “You hardly know any exercise, Akash knew all the exercises and he always conducted it very systematically, you told me to do it in wrong way and now my knee is paining.”

 

The old man did not know what to say.

 

The lady was definitely angry so I thought to keep away.

 

But she saw me and asked me about the knee exercise.

 

“I thought you were teaching your grand son and you must be knowing in any case.”

 

“No, I was not teaching him, in fact he was teaching both of us.”

 

“How come he knows this exercise. He is a kid, must be in class one.”

 

“Class two actually, but he has asked his physical training teacher in the school, learnt all the exercises and now teaching us, we came from a town in Bihar , to stay with our son and his family for a while .

 

It was Sunday again, when I saw the boy and old couple doing exercise in the distant corner of park. As I approached them, I could see the young boy yelling at the old couple….be straight, chin up, breathing normal, now raise the left leg, right leg straight, rotate the left ankle …

 

“How come you people came to this far corner, you were doing exercise near to the centre point”

“We came to this place because Akash came to teach us, he shouts quite a bit and we did not want others to be disturbed.”

 

“Why do you shout at your Dada and Dadi, Akash?”

 

“First of all, they are hard at hearing and secondly my teacher told me that unless you make your sound, loud and firm, no body follows the order, I want them to follow my orders here while I am teaching them”

“But they are your Dada and Dadi.”

 

“They are Dada and Dadi at home, I learn Maths from grandpa but here, I am the teacher and they are the students.”

 

This generation is too smart, so I thought.

 

After two days, old couple were sitting in the park, dull and morose.

 

“Why you are dull today, no exercise.”

 

“No mood today, Akash has not come to teach us.”

 

“By now, you must be knowing all the exercises.”

 

“I always knew all these exercises, have been a physical training teacher my self but enjoying doing these exercises only when he shouts at us.”

 

Yes, I agree…Grandson is the father of grandparents…
