Jammu, June 8: Tirupati Balaji Temple, located amidst the scenic Shivalik forests in Majeen in Jammu and Kashmir, opened its doors to devotees on Thursday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the temple of Bhagwan Sri Venkateswara Swamy through video conferencing.

1.The temple, built on a 62-acre land, is set to become one of the largest temples in the Jammu region and is expected to boost religious and pilgrimage tourism in the Union territory.
 
 
2. Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore, Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu is the sixth Balaji temple built outside Andhra Pradesh. The other five Balaji temples are built by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Delhi and Bhubaneswar.

“The temple will be thrown open for the devotees free of cost,” TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy had said earlier.

Th temple falls on the route between Jammu and Katra, where Mata Vaishno Devi temple is located. He also informed that required rituals in the temple started from June 3 before opening it to the pilgrims.
 
 
5.Reddy, who inspected the temple in Jammu, said, "Whatever system and practice being followed in Tirumala, will be followed here as well.The TTD has built Tirupati Balaji Temple at a holy place."
