A four-month-old baby boy with breathing trouble died at a hospital in Karnataka’s Tumakuru due to a lack of timely treatment. As there were no pediatricians available, hospital staff provided primary care for the child, but could not save him.
The incident has led to allegations of medical negligence with the grieving relatives of the baby boy staging a protest.
According to sources, Ayash, the son of Diwakar and Aruna from Kenkere village, was admitted to the Saptagiri Hospital after oxygen saturation levels were found to be dangerously low. Due to the unavailability of pediatricians, the hospital staff provided primary care for the child.
As the severity of Ayash's condition escalated, the medical staff recommended his immediate transfer to Chunchanagiri Hospital for specialised treatment. However, Ayash succumbed to his breathing problems before the transfer could take place.
The grieving relatives have voiced their concerns and leveled allegations of medical negligence against the hospital staff. In response to the allegations, local authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
