Amit Shah lays foundation stone of ‘Balidan Stambh’ in Srinagar's Lal Chowk, the first memorial in civil area in Kashmir to commemorate sacrifice of security forces

Srinagar, June 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday morning laid the foundation stone for ‘Balidan Stambh’ at Partap Park in Srinagar.
 
Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, visited the Lal Chowk area in the city centre along with LG Manoj Sinha and other top officials, laid the foundation for the ‘Balidan Stambh’, a symbolic pillar constructed to honor the heroic deeds of the security forces.

As part of his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Shah on Friday afternoon inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various projects in the Samba district. He laid the foundation stone of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) and handed over the Golden Health card to beneficiaries.
 
 
Earlier today, Shah visited Baltal to take stock of the preparedness for the Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to start from July 01. He also laid foundation stones for various developmental projects and inaugurated the ‘Vitasta festival’ on Friday.
 
The Union Minister also remembered the contributions of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerji on his death anniversary and recalled that Bengal is a part of India due to the late leader's efforts.
 
Shah also met the family members of victims of the Rajouri terror attack.
