Kejriwal built Rs. 40 Crore "sheesh mahal": Smriti Irani

New Delhi, Jun 19: Addressing an event in the national capital on Sunday, Union Minister Smriti Irani took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as she highlighted the renovation of his "sheesh mahal" that cost Rs 40 Crore. She also slammed the AAP national convenor saying he cannot provide electricity and drinking water to the people of Delhi.

“He built a 'Sheesh Mahal' for himself by spending more than Rs 40 crore but he did not let poor people reap the benefit of 'Ayushman Bharat' and have Rs 5 lakhs for their family," she said.
 
 
 
Irani's remarks came even as Kejriwal said the national capital would have been the safest place had law and order been under the AAP dispensation instead of the Lieutenant Governor. Irani was speaking at an event organized in west Delhi to mark the completion of the Modi government's nine years in office. According to PTI, she also alleged that Kejriwal doesn't give money for development projects but is the "first person to take credit".

"PM Modi gave free vaccines to 70 lakh people and free ration to 73 lakh people in the capital and Kejriwal took credit for it," she said. She also alleged that Kejriwal is against the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and called it a misfortune. "The Delhi CM says 'Ram ka mandir na banao, mandir hatao, hospital chalao' (Do not make Ram temple, remove temple and construct hospitals)," she said.
