"The unfortunate events of communal violence taken place since 3rd May in the state of Manipur seem to be between Kuki and Meitei communities at the surface level. However, this issue cannot be kept limited to the state of Manipur alone but has its ramifications at the national level. Therefore, it’s an issue of concern for the entire nation," ABVKA President Ramchandra Kharadi said in a press release.

"The naked dance of violence going on for the last one and half month in the state of Manipur has taken toll of hundreds of lives along with causing irreparable destruction to their properties as thousands of houses have been burned down by those involved in this violence," he said.

With "a lot of people in the state of Manipur being forced to live as refugees in the temporary relief camps due to Manipur violence, the BVKA President said, "The damage caused has not remained confined to the destruction of property alone but the communal violence has also led to the breakdown of trust between the communities that coexisted for thousands of years."

Kharadi has also said that "Its therefore, the call for peace between communities involved in this violence by central government are ending up in failure. The broken houses and properties can be rebuilt but building trust between these communities is a big challenge that lies ahead. Therefore, the process of establishing peace and bringing the situation to normalcy in the state must be taken up on a priority basis."

Emphasizing that this is not the time to find out the reasons for these unfortunate violent incidents, he has called on to establish peace and harmony.

He has also expressed concern over the politicisiation of the Manipur violence. "When the government and administration become helpless, the selfish political strife makes the machinery a mute witness and anti-India forces within and outside the country add fuel to the fire. Therefore, it’s incumbent on the country’s venerable spiritual personalities, famous persons in the fields of sports, arts, cinema, social work, politics, ex-servicemen etc. to come ahead and address people’s broken trust. Doing this is of utmost importance as this region happens to be closer to the India’s international borders," he said.

"As the President of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, I make an appeal to people in Manipur to come out of this unfortunate and unsettling situation as a bad dream. Please also ask and help people in your vicinity in calming the situation down. Let’s not forget that nobody wants to be in a perennial situation of violence and hatred. We need to deal with the calamities, natural or manmade, someday. Moreover, as humans we are not left with much of choices. As humans we cannot remain hell-bent upon destroying ourselves," he appealed.

"My sincere appeal is also due to the venerable spiritual Gurus, famous persons associated with sports, arts, cinema, ex-administrative officers and ex-servicemen to make trips to such affected areas and build confidence among people and let them know that the entire country is with them. They can also appeal to people to bring the situation to normalcy from their respective places individually and in groups."

"Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram firmly believes that the efforts on the part of such great personalities will definitely yield positive results. We as nation must waste no time, we already have lost a lot precious of it. If we do not act collectively at this juncture, the situation in the state might get bad to worse," he concluded.
