Anti-Hindu and Fake news peddler Twitter handle @HindutvaWatch has found itself in a hot soup when it tried to act smart in its whims to target Hindus & Hindutva which it had been doing with half-cooked videos without proper contexts added to it.

Hindu activist Sambhaji alias Banda Salunkhe has filed a complaint in the Kolhapur Cyber police station against the Twitter handle Hindutva Watch for spreading fake news and inciting riots on 7th June 2023.

The complainant alleged that the said Twitter account @HindutvaWatch deliberately shared two clips in a Twitter post to show that a speech by the complainant caused the incident of communal violence in Kolhapur.

It is to be notable that massive tensions as well violence erupted in the city of Kolhapur in Maharashtra on Wednesday, June 7, amid peaceful protest by Hindu organisations against people who posted social media stories praising Aurangzeb and Islamic tyrant Tipu Sultan on the glorious day when the state celebrated the 350th Rajyabhishek Day of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Twitter handle Hindutva Watch allegedly made an attempt to put the blame on the complainant that it was Sambhaji Salunkhe’s speech on 6th June 2023, that incited violence on the next day.

Sambhaji Salunkhe in his complaint mentioned, “I work for the Hindu community’s cause for the last few years in the Kolhapur district. For the last two days, there is an attempt to create communal tensions in the city by using social media. I guide people to be united so that Hindus do not lose their existence in society. On 6th June 2023, a video clip of my speech was shot. It was used in the wrong way for the wrong purpose and put before the entire society by the Hindutva Watch Twitter account.”

He further said in his complaint, “The clips of two separate incidents were shared in the same post. I was not involved in that incident, but this post is shared with the intent of defaming me and creating unrest in society. Considering the current situation in the society, there can be communal tensions and they need to be prevented by the legal process.”

He added, “Currently, there is tension prevailing in the city because some people shared wrong posts regarding religion on social media. There is an attempt to defame me by posting a clipping on the Hindutva Watch Twitter account by sharing the video of my speech and the recent violence in the city. This can potentially attract the wrath of the administration against me. therefore I request the administration to take strict action against this Twitter handle. I will not be responsible if any communal tension or violence is incited by this post.”

In the Twitter post shared by the Hindutva Watch, there are two video clips. In one video clip. Sambhaji Salunkhe is seen addressing a group of people on the occasion of the 350th coronation day celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This is from 6th June 2023. Another clip shows a tense situation in the city on the next day, June 7. In the first tweet in the same thread, Hindutva Watch shared a video clip and said that a Muslim youth was thrashed by Hindus for sharing a social media post hailing Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan.

In the video clip shared by Hindutva Watch, Sambhaji Salunkhe is seen appealing to the people to be united. He said, “We should be united because there are so many families in which they have only two daughters. We should protect them.” He also appealed to the listeners to call for a peaceful bandh against the social media posts hailing Aurangzeb. It was during this peaceful protest the next day that stones were pelted at innocent Hindus and a law and order situation was created.

Hindutva Watch tried to target the complainant in the caption by mentioning, “Hindu extremists thrashed a Muslim youth who uploaded status hailing Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan. Later, stones were pelted at a mosque during the protest rally by Hindu far-right groups. The situation remains tense as far-right leaders like Banda Sakunkhe try to keep the pot simmering by delivering communal speeches. As of now, Kholapur Police continues to ignore his hateful rhetoric and calls for violence.”

According to Legal Activism group Sahyadri Rights Forum, Twitter handle HindutvaWatch effectively violated multiple sections of IPCs like 153A, 153B, 295A, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Nevertheless, HindutvaWatch is part of the Leftist jihadi terror nexus since it partners with Anti India groups like IAMC (Indian American Muslim Council), Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR) & often tries to whitewash crimes committed by Muslims under the garb of ISLAMOPHOBIA.

Who is the Founder of HindutvaWatch?

Hindutvawatch is run by one Raqeeb Hameed Naik who lives in the USA and identifies himself as a Kashmiri journalist.

He is known for his rabid anti-Hindu hate which made him found Hindutva Watch basically to Spread Propaganda & hate speech against the Hindu community, demonize & paint a target on Hindus worldwide so that they can be attacked by Rabid Radical Islamists.

Raqeeb Hameed hails from Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, and pursued a Master's in Public Administration from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and a Masters's in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Bolton, United Kingdom.  Currently, he is News Director at TwoCircles.net, a news website that covers Indian Muslims and Dalits. Formerly, he was working as an International correspondent with Washington based The Globe Post and has also reported from China. His work has appeared on Al Jazeera, Stories Asia, The Wire, Caravan Magazine, TRT World, The Defense Post, and The Third Pole.

Raqib supports Kashmir separatism. He frequently addresses terrorists as rebel commanders address Kashmir as Indian-administered Kashmir and call Kashmir “disputed”. He wrote an article titled ‘We Will Fight Till the End:’ Kashmir Reacts to India Rescinding Special Status in The Globepost and quoted only separatist voices like Shah Faesal, Shehla Rashid, academics cum Kashmiri separatists, Ather Zia and Ashok Swain, a known Hindu hater. Ather Zia is a professor at the University of Northern Colorado and is associated with a dodgy organization called Stand with Kashmir. Ashok Swain is known for his hatred shown towards RSS-BJP and is a professor of hate and conflict at Uppsala University, Sweden.

He regularly quotes separatist activists like, known Hindu hater, Australian-born CJ Werleman or Rao Farman Ali, a Director-Programmes at the Institute of Public Policy Research and Development, Jammu & Kashmir who has defended and downplayed ISIS flags in the Union Territory as “the unfurling of ISIS flags is the result of growing alienation among Kashmiri youth and has nothing to do with ISIS activities in Iraq, Syria or other countries". He goes to extreme lengths to not mention Pakistan’s role and blames the Indian Army's presence in radicalizing Kashmiri youth. In an article on 28th November 2017, titled ‘At Least We Will Live at Peace’: Families Ask Kashmir to Investigate Unmarked Graves, Raqib says “Kashmir, a Muslim-majority state, rose up against Indian rule in 1987 after disputed assembly elections. Thousands of young people disenchanted with Indian rule took up arms to fight the security forces, while others stayed back but expressed sympathy for their cause.”

The entire article is based on lies and propaganda blaming Indian Army while giving a clean chit to Pakistan. He has never s a word about how Hindus from the valley were raped, tortured, butchered, and threatened in 1990 which led them to live like refugees in their own country. He also never sympathized with Hindu and Sikh girl's abduction, rape, and forced conversion in Pakistan.

Raqib also has written against the construction of the Bursar dam in Kashmir, a project that has been in the making since 2012. He has also argued in favor of illegal Rohingyas in India and opposed their deportation. Rohingyas are known to have links to violent extremists and terror outfits in the Indian sub-continent. In an article for TRTworld.com which Raqib co-authored with Majid Maqbool, India’s far-right turns hostile toward Rohingya refugees argues “In Jammu City, Raina’s activism is another expression of the party’s anti-minority agenda. He has now turned his focus on Rohingya refugees, describing a few hundred of them as a demographic threat to the city’s Hindu majority population.” He lied about the number of Rohingyas as “a few hundred of them”, when in fact the actual number mentioned by Economic Times was 10,000 in 2017. Rohingyas in Myanmar are accused of the massacre of 100’s of Hindus, as reported by Amnesty International. In a personal blog post, Raqib accused RSS of spoiling the relationship between Buddhists and Muslims in the Ladakh region.

In TwoCirles.net, Raqib present’s a series of articles, showing Roghinyas as harmless people. He doesn’t talk about their radicalization, massacre of Hindus in Rakhine, Myanmar, or their illegal entry into India via the India-Banglasdesh border with no supporting documents.
