China's rare praise to India after Navy helps in search & rescue over sinking Chinese ship in Indian Ocean Region

Beijing, May 19: On a rare occasion, China has expressed its gratitude towards India after the Indian Navy deployed its Air MR assets in Southern Indian Ocean Region in response to sinking of a Chinese Fishing Vessel Lu Peng Yuan Yu 028 with 39 crew members onboard.

"Truly appreciate the timely help," the Chinese embassy tweeted. The Indian Navy aided in search and rescue of crew members.
 
 
In a press briefing, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wnebin mentioned India. "Countries such as Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Malives and the Philippines have extender emergency assistance and sent sympathies for the Chinese boat and crew."
 
 
On May 17, in a swift humanitarian action, the Indian Navy has deployed its air assets for search and rescue operations after a Chinese fishing vessel sank in the Indian Ocean with 39 people on board. The Chinese fishing vessel, which had crew from China, Indonesia & the Philippines, capsized in the central part of the Indian Ocean.

The Indian Navy on May 17 deployed its P-8I aircraft in the southern Indian Ocean Region, approximately 900 NM from India, as part of search and rescue efforts to locate the Chinese fishing vessel Lu Peng Yuan Yu 028.
 
 
"P8I aircraft have carried out multiple & extensive searches despite adverse weather & located multiple objects possibly belonging to the sunken vessel. As an immediate response, SAR equipment was deployed at the scene by the Indian aircraft on request of PLA(N) ships closing the area," the INdian Navy tweeted.
