Bengaluru on Tuesday witnessed the 'Zero Shadow Day' phenomenon at 12.17 pm. 'Zero Shadow Day' is a celestial phenomenon during which the Sun doesn't cast a shadow of a vertical object.
The reference pole could be any vertically placed object which, owing to the sun being directly overhead, would turn shadow-less. The rare celestial phenomenon mostly occurs in regions near the equator, regions that fall between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.
Several Bengaluru locals took to social media to share pictures clicked during the 'Zero Shadow Day'.
