Minor girl raped & murdered at Kaliaganj in West Bengal's Uttar Dinajpur

Kolkata, Apr 21: A minor girl was allegedly raped and murdered by unidentified miscreants at Kaliaganj in Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal, a senior police officer said on Friday (Apr 21).

Local people found the body of the teenage girl, who was missing since Thursday (Apr 20) evening, floating in the waters of a canal this morning, he said. The girl, a resident of Gangua village of the district, went missing on Thursday (Apr 20) evening after she went for her tuition classes and could not be traced the entire night, despite extensive searches by her family members and local people.

According to reports, a protest against the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl turned violent in West Bengal's Uttar Dinajpur district on Friday (Apr 21) after the locals blocked roads and indulged in vandalism, forcing the police to resort to lathi charge and firing tear gas shells at them.
