Fresh details have emerged in the Bathinda Military Station firing incident that took the lives of four Indian Army soldiers while they were sleeping inside the military station.

Here are 10 key points about the Bathinda military station firing-

1.An FIR was filed on the basis of the statement of Major Ashutosh Shukla, a witness against two masked men in kurta-pajamas.

The assassins were seen at 4:30 am running towards the jungle near the base.

According to the FIR, the assailants had their faces covered and were carrying an assassin's rifle and axe.

4.An INSAS rifle along with 28 rounds were reportedly missing for the past two days and some personnel might be behind this incident

5.The four slain jawans have been identified as Sagar, Kamlesh, Santosh and Yogesh.

6.The four jawans were asleep in their rooms post the end of duty when two masked men, in white kurta pyjamas, attacked them with rifles and sharp-edged weapons who were found in a pool of blood in their their rooms.

7.The police informed that one of the weapons used in the crime was seized.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Bathinda Range Surinder Pal Singh Parmar, ruled out a terror angle in the incident.

9. ADGP, however, said "Two days ago, an FIR was filed at the Cantt police station that a rifle had been stolen. That matter, too, is being investigated."
