Ram Navami celebration: Clash breaks out in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after miscreants attacks Hindus outside Ram temple

Three fire brigade vehicles also reached the spot to extinguish the vehicles that were torched. More police personnel were deployed in the area and security was beefed up to prevent untoward incidents.

Sambhaji Nagar, March 30: In a shocking development, a clash broke out in Sambhaji Nagar after some miscreants attacked a group of Hindus who were peacefully preparing for the Shri Ram Navami celebration at Ram Mandir in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's Kiradpura.

People pelted stones at each other and set several vehicles on fire outside Ram Mandir, as per reports. The clash broke about on the intervening night of March 29 and 30.

About half a dozen people, including two policemen, were injured in the attack. The violence started before midnight and continued for nearly four hours. During the incident, stones were pelted, and private as well as police vehicles were set ablaze.

"A clash broke out between two groups in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's Kiradpura area Stones were pelted, and some private and police vehicles were set on fire. Police used force to disperse the people and now the situation is peaceful. Police will take strict action against the miscreants," said Nikhil Gupta, CP, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
 

A case has been registered against unidentified persons and police are checking CCTV cameras to investigate the matter. Cops assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
 

Following the clashes, the AIMIM's National Corporator Mohammed Naseeruddin reached the spot and appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony. He said that two major festivals are being celebrated Ram Navami and Ramzan which are very important and asked people not to believe any rumours.
