Mahim, March 23: Hour's after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray revealed that the illegal dargah has been build in Mahim Bay in Mumbai, the Maharashtra government on Wedensday took the Bulldozers action against it.

On Thursday morning, police and civic authorities reached the spot and cleared encroachment near the said dargah. Bulldozers were brought to remove the encroachment amid heavy deployment of police to avoid any untoward incident.

'Illegal Dargah

Duting the annual program of his political party at Shivaji Park in the Dadar area of Mumbai, Raj Thackeray ordered playing a video, apparently shot with a drone hovering around and above what seemed to be a small islet that had come up in the Mahim sea. It had some green and white flags, fluttering on a pole and on strings around, with some men and women `devotees` offering prayers at a makeshift grave of an unknown person.

"Whose `dargah` is this? Is it of some fish," he asked in a lighter vein, but warned that such things cannot be tolerated and if it is not demolished within a month, his party would retaliate with a Ganesh temple at the same islet.

Raj Thackeray said, “This is constructed illegally in the last two to two and half years in the sea opposite the Makhdum Baba dargah in Mahim. There was no such thing there as seen in the video. I even have satellite images of that. They raised it out of nothing. The Mahim police station is not far away from this place. No one pays attention. Municipal Corporation employees keep roaming around the city but nobody sees it. In broad daylight, they are building a second Haji Ali here.”

He added, “If action is not taken against this within a month, then we will build the biggest Ganpati temple just near it. Will see whatever happens. If you are giving such concessions to them, if you are ignoring them to this extent, then ignore our actions too. I won’t tolerate these things anymore. If I am voted to power even once in this state, I will make everyone abide by discipline. So much so that no one will dare ever again to see this soil with evil intentions.”

Thackeray also said he will renew his campaign to pull down loudspeakers from mosques if the states government does not take any action in the matter.

During the same speech, he also referred to Muslims and said, “I am not a fanatic Hindu...I want people like Javed Akhtar and many more. I want Indian Muslims who speak against Pakistan and tell them our power. Javed Akhtar does that and I want Muslims like him."
