Mehboob Pasha Madarsab sexually assaults mentally-ill patient in Karnataka's govt hospital

Bengaluru, March 20 : In a shocking incident, Mehboob Pasha Madarsab, a resident of Islamabad Colony, raped a mentally-ill woman patient admitted to Karnataka's Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). This incident took place on Saturday.

 

According to police, the accused was caught by another person and handed over to the police.

 

The head nurse of GIMS hospital Mahadevi Mathapati, who was on duty in the night shift, lodged a complaint at Brahmapuri police station. The accused was caught by a relative of another patient admitted to the hospital. He also took a video on his phone and handed the accused over to the hospital staff and security personnel.

 

 

The police said that on Friday at 11 p.m., the accused had sneaked into the ward after ensuring that there was no one and committed the crime. A stranger, who happened to be there at the hospital at that point, caught him and handed him over to the authorities.

 

 

Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner Chetan R said that the rape accused will be interrogated after the case is booked against him under section 376 of IPC. He also said that a report will be sent to Medical Education Department after conducting an investigation into the case.

 

The victim woman has been under treatment at the hospital for the last seven months. The Brahmaputra police have lodged a case and are investigating the accused person.
