Bahrain, Mar 16: Congress leaders have been on agenda to spew venom against India especially Rahul Gandhi on foreign soil. Unlike Rahul Gandhi, Rajya Sabha and BJD MP Sasmit Patra at the 146th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Bahrain on Wednesday lauded India for providing Covid vaccines to 99 countries and to UN entities by pursuing the principle of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka ka Prayas.'
"India believes in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which means 'The World Is One Family.' It is with this belief in peaceful coexistence, and inclusive societies that India provided more than 291 million doses of 'Make-In-India' COVID vaccines to 99 countries and to United Nations entities, including more than 14 million doses of COVID vaccines as a grant to 50 countries and United Nations peacekeepers totalling support to 150 countries," said Patra.
"Today, India is moving ahead, pursuing the principle of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka ka Prayas,' which means companionship for all, development for all, trust of all, efforts of all the all-inclusive, peaceful coexistence mantra," added Patra.
India, the largest democracy in the world. Since ancient times, India has been globally recognized for promoting peaceful, quintessential and inclusive societies.
"The fact that India has never attacked a foreign country and has adopted Mahatma Gandhi's principles of non-violence in its conduct bolsters our character. Strong belief in peaceful coexistence. As the world's largest democracy, India is committed to promoting democracy, inclusive society, and peaceful coexistence," said the Rajya Sabha MP.
Moreover, he said that India has perceptible participation in the United Nations peacekeeping, with more than 253,000 Indians have served in various UN peacekeeping missions around the world.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier he came down heavily on Pakistan as the latter raised Kashmir, as expected. India through a Right to Reply (RoR) slammed Pakistan at the IPU terming it an exporter of terrorists and reiterating that Pakistan has no locus standi on Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Patra, who is representing the Indian Parliament at the 146th IPU Assembly, said, “It is unfortunate that Pakistan has chosen once again to misuse the august platform by mentioning in their statement about Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral part of India. This mentioning is completely unacceptable.”
Patra further said, “The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. No amount of rhetoric and propaganda from any country can override this fact. Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on India’s internal affairs.”
“We have repeatedly called upon it to vacate the Indian territories under its illegal and forcible occupation with immediate effect. It is ironic that a country, which is a known exporter of terrorists, and responsible for inflicting countless cross-border terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir is claiming to champion the cause of human rights,” the BJD MP said.
