The villagers informed the officials of the administration and Archaeology department about the discovery of the statue. As soon as the information was received, the team of the Archaeological Department reached the spot. The team excavated the buried idol out of the ground. The Archaeological Department got the statue of Nandi Maharaj cleaned and kept it safe in the museum of the local Pisanhari temple. It is being told that remains of ancient lamps and utensils have also been found during the excavation.

Udaipur's BJP leader Saurabh Dwivedi says that there must have been an ancient temple around the statue of Nandi Maharaj. If digging is done in the surrounding areas, then there is strong possibility of some ancient temple to be found. The Udaipur village is located about 16 kilometers away from Ganjbasoda Tehsil and is believed to have been a religious center during the reign of King Udaya Aditya in the 10th-11th centuries CE. Besides, Village Udaipur is known for the ancient Neelkantheshwar Shiva temple and the largest statue of Nataraja.
