On the 4th of February, Usha stated that strangers had barged into her academy and begun construction work. While speaking to the press in New Delhi, the IOA President broke down and expressed concern about the safety of female athletes at her institution.
PT Usha alleged, “Some people stormed into the Usha School of Athletics compound and started construction work. They misbehaved when confronted by management. They claimed to have authorisation from Panangad Panchayat, but we reported to the police, and the work was finally halted.”
She also asked Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to assist in resolving the ongoing crisis.

She said in a tweet, “A mother's heart pains and overflows with emotions when she sees her precious children face atrocities while they try to give wings to their dreams. In our country where mothers are held on the highest pedestal, I hope my problem will be looked into and resolved soon.”
Meanwhile, Kerala’s Sports Minister, V Abdurahiman rejected PT Usha's allegations of posing a security threat to the academy inmates.

V Abdurahiman said, “The sports dept in Kerala is not willing to curtail the activities of any academy. We won't interfere in such matters. Such local issues can be dealt with locally by the panchayat members of that place and one need not exaggerate over the matter. The panchayat where the sports school is situated can deal with it. One need not go to Delhi and take up the matter, she can talk about it in Kerala itself. She has already written to the CM. It will be dealt with accordingly. Also here there is no discrimination against any such sports academy. Kerala is the most peaceful state where everyone can live in a cordial atmosphere.”
