Karnataka promises majestic Ram Mandir in Ramanagara; Allocates Rs 1000 Cr for development of temples

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has allocated around ₹1000 crore for the development of temples and mutts in the state, and has also promised a majestic.

Bengaluru, Feb 17: Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai is presently presenting the state's budget for 2023-24, in the state assembly. The Chief Minister has shared that the budget includes prioritized amount for development of temples, whereby development of historic Ramanagara is also covered.

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has allocated around ₹1000 crore for the development of temples and mutts in the state, and has also promised a majestic. CM Bommai has directed funds to several irrigation projects so far, with a sharp focus on Bengaluru's infrastructure and traffic problems. The CM allocated more than ₹1600 crore for Bengaluru roads in a bid to ease traffic woes in the city.
 
 
 
 
 
Earlier, in December 2022, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, District in-charge Minister of Ramanagara, has urged Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai to constitute a development committee to build a temple at Ramadevarabetta in the lines of Bhagwan Ram temple at Ayodhya. In a letter written to the Chief Minister and Muzarai Minister Shashikala Jolle, he demanded that Ramadevarabetta should be developed as the Ayodhya of South India.
 
After the letter, sources also revealed that Karnataka's Bommai government was also planning to develop Ramadevarabetta in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district as the ‘Ayodhya of the South’. There is a strong belief among the people of the region that Sugriva (Ramayana) installed Ramadevarabetta. In consideration of the religious sentiments of the people of the district, BJP has considered developing Ramadevarabetta as a heritage and attractive tourist spot.
