The Indian Army's trusty Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV), the BMP-2 Sarath, has undergone some major upgrades, greatly enhancing its combat capabilities.

One of the most notable improvements is its ability to carry not just one, but two Forget Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), a significant upgrade from its previous single-missile capacity.

This modernization is a step forward for the Army, as it moves away from outdated second-generation ATGM systems and embraces the more advanced third-generation fire-and-forget versions, elevating its ATGM arsenal to a whole new level. The main objectives of this update are to increase lethality, accuracy, and range against enemy defenses, and so far, it has been a success.

But the Army's efforts do not stop there. In addition to integrating the new missiles, the BMP-2 Sarath is also set to be equipped with the Canister Launched Loiter Munition System (CLAMS) on its BMP-2/CMT chassis. This powerful combination of precision attack and loitering capabilities allows the BMP-2 to engage targets with deadly accuracy, even beyond the line of sight.

In addition to these upgrades, the BMP-2 will now also be equipped with two Konkurs-M launchers. These launchers offer a cost-effective solution for targeting armored vehicles, providing a viable alternative to the more advanced Forget ATGMs. With these new enhancements, the BMP-2 is sure to be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

The integration of CLAMS brings even more capabilities to the BMP-2. While its primary function remains as an infantry combat vehicle, it can now also be utilized for close air support, reconnaissance missions, and intelligence gathering. This increased adaptability makes the BMP-2 a valuable asset in a wide range of combat scenarios.

To enhance the effectiveness of the BMP-2 during nighttime operations, Alpha Design Technologies has introduced the Thermal Imager Standalone Kit, also known as TISK. This equipment greatly improves the gunner's situational awareness and their ability to identify targets in low light conditions.

These enhancements have significantly boosted the combat endurance, adaptability, and firepower of the BMP-2 Sarath. The inclusion of CLAMS (Compact Laser Aiming Module System) provides a crucial capability for precision strikes and reconnaissance, while the upgraded firepower allows the Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV) to engage multiple targets simultaneously.
