PM Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scored a hattrick in three Hindi Heartlands - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. It has created a huge impact ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and strengthened Prime Minister Modi’s bid for a third term in office.

With the BJP's stellar victory in the assembly elections, the party's political landscape has expanded significantly as it now rules 12 of the 28 states in India.

PM Modi said on Sunday that the BJP's "hat-trick" in state elections is a guarantee of the party's "hat-trick in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls" as he lauded the verdict as an endorsement of his agenda of self-reliant India, good governance, and transparency.

The Prime Minister said that during the recent assembly elections, efforts were made to "divide the country based on castes". "I kept saying that for me, four castes are important - nari shakti (women empowerment), yuva shakti (youth empowerment), kisaan (farmers) and gareeb parivaar (poor families)," he added.

During the campaigning for the elections, PM Modi had slammed Congress over its poll guarantees by projecting himself as a leader who has delivered on the promises made by him to help the common man meet his aspirations. He and his side have repeatedly taken digs at the Congress party over corruption, dynasty politics and appeasement, while advocating the BJP's "double-engine" government, welfare schemes, and new India narrative.

INDIA bloc losing the plot?

The INDIA bloc members slammed the Congress for their poor poll show. Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh said the result shows the "failure of Congress" rather than the "success of BJP". He, however, was hopeful the defeat "will not affect Lok Sabha polls, and a combined INDIA coalition will win".

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said the INDIA bloc "cannot win" in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections if this is the situation.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi asked the Congress to show more generosity on seat-sharing deals meanwhile Kerala CM and CPI-M leader Pinarayi Vijayan said the Congress thought it had already won and couldn't be defeated and this led to its downfall.

Kharge has dialed the leaders of the INDIA block to meet next week. The fight is now well and truly on for 2024, but it seems the Congress will need to punch far above its weight to have any hope of displacing the BJP.
