In an exciting collaboration, SAMI and Embraer have recently joined forces through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership is focused on advancing their aerospace industries, with a specific emphasis on defense and security.
Primarily, the agreement aims to strengthen the operational reach of both companies in Saudi Arabia. This will involve showcasing the impressive capabilities of Embraer's C-390 Millennium aircraft and providing dedicated support to the Kingdom's Ministry of Defense. As part of their efforts, SAMI and Embraer will establish a comprehensive maintenance capability for the Embraer aircraft within the Kingdom.
Furthermore, they will explore the possibilities of a Regional MRO Hub, as well as a final assembly line for the C-390, and mission system integration – all based in the Kingdom. To enhance their collaboration even further, SAMI and Embraer will also engage in training activities, which will open up new opportunities for both companies.
"Eng. Walid A. Abukhaled, CEO of SAMI, expressed his delight in the recently signed agreement with Embraer, which will bring new support and production facilities to the Kingdom.
This milestone showcases SAMI's unwavering commitment towards the growth and development of the aerospace industry in the Kingdom, as well as its determination to support the Saudi Vision 2030 goal of achieving self-sufficiency in the defense sector and localizing 50% of defense spending by 2030. Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, also shared his satisfaction with the agreement, stating that it marks the first step in furthering collaboration in the defense sector."
With this Memorandum of Understanding, Embraer advances further into a strategic market. We will work hard to add value to the local industry, to the Royal Saudi Air Force, and to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
