The rooster drone uses a revolutionary mix of technology that allows it to act as both a regular rotary wing aerial vehicle and a loitering robot on the ground, increasing its versatility, according to RRU.

According to the announcement, the drone was built in collaboration with Hyderabad-based business M/S Brane Services, which carried out the project under the "Make in India" program.

"The source code for the product underwent multiple revisions in collaboration with the School of Internal Security,Defence and Strategic Studies (SISDSS) of RRU and Brane Services development team, reflecting the commitment to quality and precision," according to the statement.

The rooster drone is projected to perform well in operational scenarios, even under demanding and hostile conditions. According to the statement, its success will be determined by its capacity to improve the effectiveness of ground operations while minimizing deaths.

The drones were handed over to RRU Vice-Chancellor Bimal Patel and Brigadier Prashant Bajpai from the Army's Northern Command during a ceremony on the university grounds.

Patel stated that the RRU is committed to strengthening the national security system in partnership with the Indian Army.

He noted that the future promises great possibilities for RRU and the Indian Army, and that the transfer of the rooster drone signals the beginning of a promising relationship aimed at ensuring the nation's security.

On November 9, 2021, RRU signed an MoU with the Indian Army to establish certificate, diploma, and degree programs specialized for professional military education, as well as collaborate on research and capacity-building initiatives.

RRU is an important pioneering national security and police university in India that reports to the Union Home Ministry. The institution, which will be established in 2020, seeks to become an academic-research-training ecosystem for national security and police.
