US offers air defence version of Stryker armoured fighting vehicles to India

The US government has given the Indian military an air defense system version of the Stryker armoured combat vehicle that can be deployed in high altitude zones to shoot out hostile planes.
"The Americans have offered the Indian military Stryker armored fighting vehicles equipped with air defense systems."They have offered to co-produce the vehicles with Indian businesses," according to defense sources.
During the 2+2 conference with India, the US pressed for co-production of the Stryker armoured combat vehicle, which was also revealed by their Defence Secretary Lloyd J Austin.
This is not the first time the US has pushed for the sale of Stryker systems to India, and it has done so in recent high-level talks with Indian officials.
According to security sources, India is evaluating the American establishment's request for Stryker vehicles but has not made a final judgment on it.
The American proposal comes at a time when the Indian defense industry has made significant progress in the development of armoured combat vehicles, such as the Wheeled Armoured Platform developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization in collaboration with private industry.
Some of these armored systems have also been deployed in advanced regions such as the Ladakh sector to assist troops in responding promptly to emergency circumstances along the China border.
