PM Modi becomes first prime minister to visit folk hero Birsa Munda's native village Ulihatu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to Indian tribal activist and folk hero Birsa Munda on his birth day on Wednesday at his native hamlet Ulihatu in Jharkhand's Khunti district.

The Prime Minister adorned Birsa Munda's monument and paid his respects to the late tribal hero.
PM Modi, the first prime minister to visit Ulihatu, was greeted warmly by villagers who danced to the sounds of traditional instruments such as the dhol and mandar.
 
After paying his respects to the tribal activist, Prime Minister Modi went to see an exhibition in Khunti.
The Prime Minister paid respect to the late tribal leader at the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park and Freedom Fighter Museum in Ranchi earlier today.
 
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, and Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan accompanied him.

In his statement on the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda's birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on X, "Respectful tribute to Lord Birsa Munda ji on his birth anniversary." On this unique occasion of Tribal Pride Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to my family members across the country."
 
 
 
Recognizing Birsa Munda's enormous accomplishments, the Union Cabinet designated November 15 as 'Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas' on November 10, 2021.

Following that, the yearly event honors the visionary leader's involvement in India's liberation cause.
According to the announcement, PM Modi will also take part in an event commemorating the third Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, 2023, in Khunti.

The Prime Minister stated in his speech on the occasion of the state creation day on X, "Jharkhand has been famous for its mineral resources as well as the courage, bravery, and self-respect of the tribal society." My family members here have made significant contributions to the country's growth. The Prime Minister will launch the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' and the Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Mission at the event.
 
According to the press release, PM Modi's continual goal has been to achieve saturation of the government's flagship projects by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all intended recipients in a timely way.
On the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra', a key step toward achieving the goal of scheme saturation.
