Fabled Football player David Beckham , who was spotted at the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023 at Mumbai's famous Wankhede Stadium, cheering up the Indian Cricketers for and during the India vs New Zealand Semi Final, is presently on a three-day visit to India, as he is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

In a recent interview that he gave to an Indian News channel, David Beckham has spoken freely about the significant position India holds in the world. He said during the interaction, "1 in every 5 children is in India. We now, that when India progresses the whole world progresses with them." On being asked about about sports like Cricket and Football can bring change in children, he responded, "I've always said that sports is one of the most powerful weapons of change. I've seen it over the years, whether it be in Thailand, different parts of Europe or in South America." Later on during the Rapid Fire round when asked about whom is he rooting for for the World Cup among India, New Zealand, South Africa or Australia, the football ace replied with "India"
