In a video that went viral on social media, Trudeau is seen waving and shaking hands with a supporter. He then proceeds to greet the man by extending his hand. "Hey there. How are you doing?" Trudeau says. But the man holds back and says he will not shake hands with him.

"I am not shaking your hand. You are a piece of s**t," the man is heard saying.A visibly surprised Trudeau then asks the disgruntled man, "Why's that, sir?" To this, the man responds, "You f**ked up the entire country."Trudeau asks the man what he has done to mess up his country. The man says, "Can anybody afford a home?"

The Canadian leader says that housing is not a federal responsibility and shifted the blame to local governments.

Canada is facing a housing affordability crisis, which the Trudeau government blames on an influx of migrants and international students, fueling demand for homes. The crisis has triggered public anger amongst Canadians and most polls say Trudeau's Liberal Party will cede power to the Conservatives.

The man continues saying, "You are charging people a carbon tax." To this, Trudeau responds, "You know what we are doing with that carbon tax? We are putting a price on pollution and we are returning it to families like yours."

The man snaps back, "You sent it over to Ukraine, right? You send it over to the guy slaughtering his own country." Trudeau dismisses the man's claim as "Russian propaganda"."You have been listening to Putin, have you? You know a lot of Russian disinformation," Trudeau says before walking away to his motorcade as the man continues to confront him.

"You got a propaganda bro. Get the f**k out of here," the man is heard saying as Trudeau waves to people before getting inside his car. Trudeau's confrontation with a man comes against the backdrop of a snowballing diplomatic row between India and Canada over the latter's allegations of New Delhi's involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil.

India dismissed Canada's allegation, calling it "absurd and motivated". A recent poll suggests that Trudeau is losing popularity amongst voters and would be defeated by the Conservatives led by opposition leader Pierre Poilievre if elections are held today. Another poll voted Trudeau as the worst Canadian Prime Minister in over 50 years.
