Showing his support for the Khalistani movement even after being boycotted for promoting a distorted Indian map, Punjabi singer Shubh has once again created controversy by glorifying the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her bodyguards Beant Singh and Satwant Singh.
This came after a video of the Punjabi singer holding a hoodie that had an image of Indira Gandhi being shot down by Beant Singh and Satwant Singh at a concert which was held in London, UK.
The Punjabi singer was seen promoting the Akaal Clothing merchandise in the concert. It was collaboration between Akaal Clothing and Shubh. In their Instagram bio, it has claimed that they will donate 20% of their profits to charitable causes. "We are proud to donate 20% of our profits to charitable causes," it said.
It is also important to note that this controversy comes in the backdrop on the day - October 31 - which marks the death anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi. She was assassinated on October 31, 1984. Beant Singh and Satwant Singh had fired over 30 bullets at her from point-blank range, purportedly to avenge the humiliation of Sikhs and the desecration of the Golden Temple during Operation Blue Star in June of that year.
Congress and liberals make fools out of themselves
In March 2023, Punjabi singer Shubh had a controversial post on his social media account with the caption "Pray for Punjab"and a distorted map of India in which the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and North-eastern states were not included. It was immediately deleted after backlash. He had shared it at a time when the central government and the state government were hunting for pro-Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh and his followers. This had unleashed chaos across the Punjab state.
When this erupted controversy after a few months for his alleged Khalistani connections, his India tour was cancelled as well as his several sponsors backed out.

Several Congress leaders as the "liberals" had come out to support him. Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring came out in support of Canada-based Punjabi singer Shubhneet Singh.
Taking to social media on Friday, Warring said he "strongly opposes the labelling of youngsters like Shubh, who speak for Punjab" and that the Punjabis "don't need to give any proof of their nationalism".
"While we at INC Punjab strongly oppose the idea of Khalistan and have actively fought our battles against anti-national forces, I strongly oppose labelling of our youngsters like Shubh, who speak for Punjab as anti-nationals. We, Punjabis, don’t need to give any proofs about our nationalism," Warring wrote on X.
"This propaganda being pushed by certain forces against Punjabis to undermine us is highly condemnable. Malicious attempts to tarnish our youngsters must be repulsed. Jai Hind! Jai Punjab!" he added.
However, one might wonder what would be Congress' stand now about Shubh, who had supported him at that time when his shows were cancelled for sharing a distorted map of India when he openly promoted the assassination of ex-PM Indira Gandhi! It also raises a question that it has become clearer what his motives are now.
